Secure Independent Broker Devices Without MDM or VDI

The independent broker device gap

Independent brokers often reach carrier systems from laptops the carrier does not own or manage. The carrier still needs to apply its security policy before granting access.

Check the device at sign-in

PosturePass checks six security settings:

  • Disk encryption
  • Antivirus or anti-malware
  • Firewall
  • Operating system updates
  • Screen lock
  • Risky remote access tools

When the device passes, PosturePass sends the result to Microsoft Entra ID or Okta. Existing access policies decide whether the broker gets in. Failed devices receive steps to fix the problem and can re-check without contacting IT.

Keep personal content private

PosturePass checks device security settings. It does not read files, email, browsing history or personal content. It cannot wipe, lock or control the laptop.

Keep an audit record

PosturePass records the user, device, settings checked, result, remediation and time. Customers can export those records from the dashboard or through an API.

One insurance carrier uses PosturePass to check more than 8,000 broker devices. The agent supports Windows, macOS and Linux without MDM enrollment.
